In 2002, Jeff Hitchcock on a search for a regular head of iceberg lettuce happened upon a few heads of small iceberg lettuce in a field. The thought of producing a softball size iceberg lettuce on a consistent commercial scale peaked his interest. After three years of vigorous trialing, he developed the proprietary seed necessary to produce Iceberg Babies™ on a year round basis.
In 2005 we introduced Iceberg Babies® to the foodservice industry at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago to rave reviews. Our Babies have been a big hit in the foodservice industry every since!
